My Hero...

...Photoshop hero that is.

Julieanne Kost is pretty cool. I recently learned this neat little trick from her. It's been driving Darren and me crazy trying to figure it out. She knew it right off the top of her head. Here it is:

Mike: How do I do that cool trick where you change the background color from grey to white?

Julieanne: Choose your color, go to full screen mode (tap the "f" key) and shift-click in the gray area with the paint bucket.

I then asked Julianne if there was a way to get rid of the pesky black hairline outline that is on the image when it's shown against the grey (or white now...) background. She said she didn't, and asked why I wanted it. I explained my reason, and she jotted down something in her notebook. She's always taking input from those whom she talks to, and is looking for feedback and ways to make the next version better. We'll see if my suggestion makes it into CS3.

Anyway, if you find that helpful in your Photoshop endeavors I'm happy for you.

i don't have the slightest idea what you are talking about. it isn't a problem (whatever it is) with salted paper.

Ditto goes for what Darren said. Thanks Mike. I guess you have to use photoshop a bit to appreciate the little things.

Julieanne is amazing. I always say it is basically impossible to know everything there is about photoshop. I think Julieanne is one of the few exceptions to that statement. Not only does she know her stuff, but she does an amazing job presenting the information too.

What is it that you are trying to do that you need to get rid of the black line?

white highlights against a white paper border would be nice to judge without that pesky black line.
