Kennecott

So on Sunday afternoon we decided to get the heck out of the house and go for a drive. My son had a friend down from Portland for the week, and they were both driving me crazy. In an attempt to avoid any unpleasant bloodshed, I suggested that we drive up to Kennecott and see the mine.

We drove the tiny Land Rover with the top off, and they had a great time. Yeah, it was hot, but riding out in the wind was pretty nice. The mine has a new visitors center which is very nice, and the AC was being put to the test! The mine continues to amaze me, it was nice to be reminded of what goes on behind that big pile of tailings I see out my back window every day.

FYI...Connor is on the left, Wyatt is on the right. That's one big tire, the rim size is 63 inches across!
