BACK UP YOUR DATA!!!
For all of you working with digital images, don't forget to back up your data.
Even if you don't figure on something actually happening internally to your storage media, even if you know you have great surge protection, even if you trust your equipment explicitly, you still can't eliminate mistakes caused by YOU.
I accidentally dropped my external 300GB hard drive today. 5-feet onto a bare concrete floor. Drive is toast.
LUCKILY I had about 90% of it backed up. The other 10% I can live with possibly losing it.
Lesson for today: Back up your data!
I tried to fix it, but instead I could only find this 5-pound sledge hammer.
