Mythbusters

Connor and his friend at school decided to bust the myth that marshmallows are only good for campfires, smores and Rice Krispy treats.

They wanted to prove that marshmallows can also fly.

So, we built a cool catapult out of copper tubing and an old measuring cup, ran some tests this morning, and off he went to the Science Fair

Here are the results:

Bungee Catapult’s Average Distance: 36 Ft, (13 meters)
Longest Distance: 60 Ft. (30 meters)
Shortest Distance: 30 Ft. (10 meters)
Total Rounds Fired: 80
(One Round = 1 Large Marshmallow)

Marshmallows! Marshmallows! You know how sensitive I am to the use of that word! Did you eat them afterwards? They're delicious on top of sweet potatoes.

Have you tried a marshmallow gun? Made out of PVC, and then use the little marshmallows...kind of like a blow-gun. They are a blast! Yes...very good on sweet potatoes too.

The marshmallows went in the trash. I hate marshmallows on sweet potatoes or any other food. Once or twice a year in a smore is about all I can handle.

Anthing more complex than a catapult for the science fair and they'll know the kids didn't do it.

We have played a lot with the ol' potato cannon though. Hehe.

I'd love to see a larger scale design, maybe with 1 inch copper. Or what about even bigger. Lets see, hm, what would you use for ammo . . . small animals (cats, toy dogs, and all other sorts of furry creatures) may suffice. (posted as anon to protect identity from various animal rights groups . . .)
