Studio Face-off
I divided my 18 studio students into two groups to do another in-class demo. Black-on-black and white-on-white. I wanted to try to make it an excercize in problem solving, so I gave them a stack of copy paper, and a roll of b&w film. Simple props for them to photograph. They each shot one prop, then switched and shot the other. Here's how one of the teams did:

The above image was shot with my Holga lens mounted to my Nikon D2x digital camera. Nice'n'blurry...

Here's what the other team came up with...

Then after class was over I did some testing on a very interesting piece of software that allows you to get an infinite depth-of-field. Here are some tests...

Those are really great images. Those students must have a killer teacher...
The first image reminds me of some work I saw in the Oswald Gallery in Jackson. I can't remember the photographer...but I really liked their work...this is down the same path.
I really want to see the sports fan photos...but alas, my dang dial-up!
I like team 2. Not fair that they had someone who could do origami! Team 1 did a great job too!
That's right. Team 2 rocks!
Don't get too comfortable with your 'team'. I'll mix it up next time and make it even more difficult.
(evil laugh here)
Hehehehehehe! Bwaahahahahah!
