Got Lucky!

Well, we've been looking for a dog for about 2 years. I had in mind to get a 3-4 year old female yellow lab. Saturday morning we went and looked at a chocolate lab in Logan, but she didn't feel right. The kids and I went to the Humane Society today to see what they had. Honestly, I didn't think they'd have much, but they had a plethora of labs, and a bunch of other really neat dogs. Even had a three-legged black lab named...you guessed it, 'Tripod'. Had to laugh...we didn't get him.

Instead we found a very sweet mannered 3 year old female lab-cross. We're trying to figure out what she's crossed with. Originally thought it could have been australian sheep dog, but the tail is very thick and has a nice curl to it. Now we're thinking some kind of husky dog of some sort. The body is very lab, the tail is very thick and curls, the head is pretty lab, but not as long and thin as some.

The kids are thrilled, I'm very happy, and the dog seems to be fitting in pretty good. Best of all, my wife Polla really likes her a lot. It is important to me that the dog fit our family, and so far this one seems to be doing pretty well.

Here's Lucky (we're considering a name-change...not quite sure...).
