Nikon F
Since I'm teaching a basic photography class and the emphasis is on film, 35mm film no less...I decided to buy a 35mm film camera.
I don't actually have a 'working' 35mm film camera. I was talking to Craig about a lens he had, found out it was on a nearly mint Nikon F, so I got them both together. Pretty sweet camera actually, the meter works (which is rare for a camera this old...), the lens is sharp, the body is very clean, and everything works well. I believe the camera and lens are from about '73, which amazes me it's so clean.
Connor has learned how to use it, and I'm having him use the Sekonic hand-held meter since it's a bit more complete than just telling him to "line up the needle".
I'm going to have the 50mm 1.4 lens modified so that it will work on my digital Nikons too. Will cost about $25 to have that done.
The goal is to shoot this lens wide open as much as possible. I don't have a really fast lens, and I like the look, so I wanted to try it. Two birds, one stone.
I've run some film through it, and it looks good. I will have to scan some negs and post them.
